Attack on Afghan Defense Minister’s House, Four Killed

Agency. At least four people have been killed when gunmen stormed the home of Afghanistan’s defense minister.

The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of the home of high-security Kabul Defense Minister Bismillah Khan Mohammadi.Minister Bismillah was not at home at the time of the attack. On Tuesday, gunmen detonated a car bomb at Bismillah’s home and opened fire.

Minister Bismillah’s family was evacuated and the attackers were killed by security forces, according to international media reports.The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a police recruiting center in the capital, Kabul. Clashes continue despite UN Security Council calls for immediate end to violence.A security official told AFP that four people had been killed in the attack on the defense minister’s home.The Italian medical charity Emergency said 11 other injured people had been brought to its health center. The report also states that four attackers were killed.

After the attack, Minister Bismillah tweeted that everything was fine and not to worry.

The State Department said the attack on Defense Minister Bismillah’s home was a “complete indication” of a Taliban attack, the BBC reported.
